Sunsweet Orange & Prunes Scones

Buttery scones made even better with juicy Sunsweet Prunes. Soft, moist, and perfectly sweet — baked into adorable bear shapes that are just as cute as they are delicious.

Ingredients

  • 100 g Sunsweet Prunes @sunsweetindonesia + 2 tsp flour
  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 2½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 40 g caster sugar
  • 130 g cold unsalted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 140 g milk
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 20 g orange juice
  • Dark chocolate & white chocolate, for decoration

Instructions

  • Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
  • Add the dry ingredients and butter alternately into a food processor. Process until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Transfer the mixture to a large bowl. Add the chopped Sunsweet Prunes.
  • Whisk the egg, milk, and orange juice together. Pour into the dough and gently mix. Do not overmix.
  • Once the dough comes together, roll it out to about 1.5 cm thick. Cut into desired shapes.
  • Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush the tops of the scones with egg wash.
  • Preheat the oven to 190°C (top and bottom heat). Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Decorate as desired.
