Sunsweet Orange & Prunes Scones
Buttery scones made even better with juicy Sunsweet Prunes. Soft, moist, and perfectly sweet — baked into adorable bear shapes that are just as cute as they are delicious.
Ingredients
- 100 g Sunsweet Prunes @sunsweetindonesia + 2 tsp flour
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 2½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 40 g caster sugar
- 130 g cold unsalted butter
- 1 egg
- 140 g milk
- Zest of 1 orange
- 20 g orange juice
- Dark chocolate & white chocolate, for decoration
Instructions
- Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Add the dry ingredients and butter alternately into a food processor. Process until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Transfer the mixture to a large bowl. Add the chopped Sunsweet Prunes.
- Whisk the egg, milk, and orange juice together. Pour into the dough and gently mix. Do not overmix.
- Once the dough comes together, roll it out to about 1.5 cm thick. Cut into desired shapes.
- Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush the tops of the scones with egg wash.
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (top and bottom heat). Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Decorate as desired.
