Far Breton aux Pruneaux is a classic French custard pudding made with soft, creamy batter and sweet dried prunes. The prunes add a rich, fruity flavor that perfectly complements the smooth, buttery texture. Simple yet elegant, it’s a comforting dessert to enjoy at home or serve for special occasions.

- 100 g dried prunes
- 125 g sugar
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 60 g salted butter
- 500 ml full-cream milk
Instructions
How to Make:
- Soak the dried prunes in warm water for about 15 minutes, then drain.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, and vanilla essence until well combined.
- Add the flour gradually while stirring to avoid lumps.
- Warm the milk and melted butter, then slowly pour them into the mixture while stirring until smooth.
- Grease a baking dish with butter and arrange the prunes evenly on the bottom.
- Pour the batter over the prunes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 40–45 minutes, or until set and golden brown.
- Let it cool before slicing. Serve warm or chilled.
